IQ MEDIA – DIGITAL JOURNALISM | ATHENS

The international conference “The Future of Digital Journalism” took place on 14–15 April 2025, organized by the New Technologies Laboratory of the Department of Communication and Media Studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens as part of the IQ Media European project. The event brought together academics, industry experts, and media professionals to discuss how artificial intelligence is reshaping journalism, innovation in media, and strategies to combat misinformation.

Key sessions included workshops and panels on AI-driven newsrooms, newsletter strategy, and digital content growth, featuring speakers such as Jonathan Soma (Columbia University), Bahareh Heravi (University of Surrey & BBC), Aliya Itzkowitz (Financial Times), Alfred Hermida (UBC), as well as media professionals from Greek outlets including Kathimerini.

IQ Media serves as a hub for digital transformation in European news organizations, focusing on AI, data journalism, and advanced media applications, with participation from partners such as Nice-Matin (France), Kathimerini (Greece), Associação Portuguesa de Imprensa, ALPHA Cyprus, and Liquid Media Group.
