MDA HELLAS
MDA Hellas (Muscular Dystrophy Association of Greece) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting people with neuromuscular diseases and their families in Greece. Founded to address the complex medical, psychological, and social needs of individuals living with neuromuscular conditions, the association plays a vital role in improving quality of life and advocating for patients’ rights.
Through a wide range of initiatives, MDA Hellas provides specialized care, rehabilitation programs, educational seminars, and public awareness actions, while actively encouraging scientific research in the field of neuromuscular diseases. Its work extends beyond healthcare, fostering inclusion, dignity, and visibility for people living with rare conditions.
As part of its cultural and fundraising initiatives, MDA Hellas supported the work of Dimitra Galani through two significant events: the tribute concert celebrating 100 years of Mimi Plessas at the Veakeio Theatre, and the “Sexability”screening at Cinema Danaos. Both events highlighted the powerful connection between culture, social awareness, and accessibility, reinforcing the association’s commitment to advocacy through meaningful public engagement.
